Get involved
We understand that our work doesn't just belong in academic papers - it belongs in the public realm, where it can deliver meaningful change. However, science can be complex and daunting, so over the years, we've developed a public engagement and involvement programme that is dynamic, diverse and far reaching.
Alumni
The University of Liverpool Veterinary Alumni Association was established in 1991, to encourage staff and students who have moved on to keep in touch with each other and remain part of the School of Veterinary Science.
Public engagement
We offer a range of activities open to the public to get involved with, from hosting events at festivals and museums, to debates and talks, as well as collaborations with artists, to showcase our work in creative ways.
Public and patient involvement
Within the NIHR Health Protection Research Unit in Emerging and Zoonotic Infections, we established a public and patient involvement panel in 2015. This grants our researchers access to the valuable input of patients and the public into our work.
Working with schools
We work with local schools to deliver everything from work experience placements to inspiring talks and fun, interactive science workshops.
